Mission Statement: Empower Oregon seeks to unite frontline addictions and mental health workers to successfully advocate for their clients and themselves from their workplaces to the State Capitol.
Our Aims
• Advocate for responsible revenue policy to avoid cuts to these essential services and achieve adequate, sustainable funding for human services throughout Oregon.
• Build a powerful grassroots movement which includes front line workers, service providers, clients, family members and advocates who share our vision.
• Give a voice to front line workers. Policymakers in Oregon are currently looking for a better way to deliver mental health and addictions services. We believe the workers who actually deliver these services have valuable insights and must be part of the solution.
• Raise standards for human service workers and stabilize the workforce by uniting the strength of thousands of currently unorganized human service workers with over 45,000 current members of SEIU Local 503. Together we will be a powerful voice advocating for better working conditions for front line workers and the resources needed for better outcomes and increased quality of care for their clients.
We are union (SEIU Local 503) and non-union workers who are coming together so we can improve the human services system for ourselves and our clients. Join Us!
We have a golden opportunity right now to improve human services in Oregon.
